It involves insertion of a sheath into the radial or femoral artery and cannulate the heart under the x-ray vision (fluoroscopy). The radial artery has the advantage of an easy control of bleeding in anti-coagulated patients and increased comfort levels as early mobilisation is possible.<\/p>\n                            \n                            <p>  Interventional cardiology offers an advantage of avoiding scars,pain and a long post operative recovery period. <\/p>\n                            \n                            <p>Primary angioplasty, the most rewarding interventional cardiology technique is now the 'gold standard' of treating acute myocardial infarction (acute heart attack). It involves extraction of clots from the blocked coronary arteries with or without deployment of stents.
